 You're
not in the mountains till you're on Beech Mountain, where summer
temperatures are always cooler than any other place in Western
North Carolina...and where winter offers the highest ski slopes
east of the Rockies!
Beech Mountain is located at the end of 184 North, about 25
miles from Boone and 5 miles up the mountain from Banner Elk.
In the winter Ski Beech offers 15 slopes for skiing or
snowboarding...and 10 lifts to get you up top fast! |
Free sledding for children is available on a lighted hill next
to the Town Hall. Ski Beech also has three 375 foot tubing
runs in it's new tubing area and an outdoor ice skating rink.
 Although
winter is wonderful, there are even more things to do in the
Spring, Summer and Autumn.
Both of our vacation rental homes have Beech Mountain Club
memberships, so you may play on the private Beech Mountain Club
Golf Course (May-Oct) or you can golf at one of the many other
fine
North Carolina golf courses in the area.
 Tennis
is another favorite of visitors to the High Country, and you can
play on one of the club's (10) courts (clay or hard courts) or
swim in the Olympic-size, heated swimming pool, or use the
health/fitness center. Guests also enjoy access to the new
Buckeye Recreation Center.
The mountain also offers many hiking trails and two lakes for
fishing! Whitewater rafting, horseback riding and hiking
on the waterfall trails of the Blue Ridge are popular
activities.
 Located
at 5,506 feet above sea level, and in the middle of Blue Ridge
country, Beech Mountain offers the best of scenery, climate,
participation sports, leaf-peeping in the Autumn...not to
mention many of North Carolina's well-known family attractions,
such as Tweetsie Railroad, Grandfather Mountain and Linville
Gorge. ...and there's more!
 Fine
dining and shopping to satisfy every taste. Fred's General
Store in the mountain has a little of everything.
The area offers crafts shops, antique shops, an outlet mall, and
unique boutiques in Blowing Rock. You really must see and
do it all!
